Inspired by Ned Sublette’s book, “The World That Made New Orleans” (highly recommended reading before your visit) this all day tour takes you deep into the living museum that is New Orleans to explore the ancient and recent history that has made this incredible city what it is today. You’ll meet some of the keepers of New Orleans’ musical, food, and oral history traditions as we visit them in the Quarter, Congo Square, the Treme, and the Lower 9th Ward. Moderate walking, and a bus for some of it, this tour starts at the famed Preservation Hall at 9:30am, dropping back off at JW Marriott around 5:30pm.
